This technique involves rubbing of muscles with long gliding strokes and it is in the direction of blood pumping back to the heart. People are also confused with Swedish massage and deep tissue massage
They both have more or less similar techniques on working with the pressure points and the kneading gliding or stroking. However, the difference is that with the Swedish massage one would have loosening of the muscles which have been hardened due to exercise or sitting at the worktop constantly. This massage is for people with not many complexities in the body. While on the other hand deep tissue massage focuses on kneading and gliding as well as rubbing and other techniques. It focuses on relaxing the inner tissue layer of the body and it has a bit more pressure compared to the Swedish massage. In Swedish massage, they use fingers and palms while in the deep tissue massage they would use hands, wrists, and elbows if required to apply the pressure.
